As a trauma and grief specialist, I help people heal and recover from

  • All types of trauma (both past and recent) and related PTSD

  •  Traumatic stress

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Grief and complicated grief

I also have specialized knowledge and experience helping people who are experiencing the following:

  • Chronic illness/Chronic pain, including living with invisible disabilities
  • Those looking to process and heal the trauma that occurs due to having one or more marginalized identities
  • Survivors of narcissistic abuse who are navigating the emotional, mental, physical, financial, and/or social fallout of exploitative or antagonistic personal or professional relationships
  • Those who are recovering from the trauma of diet culture and the exhausting, harmful, and unsustainable effects of chronically cycling through fad diets and exercise programs
  • Those navigating the unique stressors of mid-life and the temporary happiness dip that can often occur in mid-life due to several factors identified by research
  • Adults with late-diagnosed Autism who are adjusting to their new lens of Neurodivergence awareness
  • Partners of late-diagnosed Autistic adults who are learning to navigate a Neurodiverse relationship

  • LGBTQIA+ individuals who have experienced isolation, abandonment, or abuse from families due to homophobia and/or transphobia
  • Those who are healing from spiritual or religious trauma

Clinical Approaches

  • Relational Cultural/Intersectional Feminist Theories- My approach is based on the awareness that one's mental and physical health is significantly impacted by the structures and systems in our society and that those with one or more marginalized identities suffer ongoing trauma and stress due to the denial of basic safety, healthcare and other basic human rights.
  • Somatic Therapy/Nervous System Awareness & Attunement—Trauma impacts the nervous system and the body, and learning how to attune to and care for one's nervous system can be an important step in healing from trauma.
  • EMDR – EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. This technique uses bilateral sensory input such as side-to-side eye movements to stimulate the brain to process difficult thoughts, memories, and emotions.
  • Internal Family Systems/Parts Work — When we go through trauma, parts of ourselves can develop to help us survive. These parts may still be behind the wheel in our daily lives and may no longer be serving one's current goals or relationships. Parts work is integrated into therapy to help unfreeze the younger parts and help them safely integrate into one's current Self.
  • Mindful Self-Compassion- Mindful self-compassion practices can be woven throughout the trauma healing journey, to build in grace and compassion for oneself as they do the work.
  • Grief Work - It is rare for one to experience trauma and not experience a parallel experience of grief- grief for what has been lost or altered because of the trauma. Understanding and intentionally processing the grief can be an important part of trauma recovery.
  • Attachment Work - Understanding one's attachment style, how it impacts one's relationships, and, if relevant, how to cultivate securely attached behaviors in relationships can lead to profound growth and transformation.
  • Health at Every Size/Body Affirming-  For those who are unlearning diet culture, I provide education and support around exploring the myths and trauma created by diet culture
  • Non-Violent Communication (NVC): Relationships are the foundation of life, and communication is the foundation of relationships. NVC provides a framework for individuals to clarify their own internal experiences and universal human needs, as well as the language and process for communicating those needs and boundaries with others.
